The Most Interesting Man in the World

Posted by Lauren in February 2024

Today we’re introducing you to Jason Minert, one of the hardworking Cloud Engineers on our Ops Team.

Check out our Q&A with him below to learn more about what led him to EarlyDog, along with his wide range of hobbies outside of the office (seriously, the guy is like a 21st century Leonardo da Vinci when it comes to his many interests).

What’s your favorite thing about working at EarlyDog?

I enjoy the culture of learning and collaboration. It’s rewarding to interact with the team when working on tasks and applying new technologies, despite living in different states. I also appreciate the opportunity to work from home and be close to my family during the day.

How did you end up in your role with EarlyDog?

I previously did in-house IT work for a tech-heavy company and gained a broad experience with many technologies, including several cloud platform services. I found Cloud to be very interesting and decided to pursue that in a more dedicated role, which led me to EarlyDog!

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I have a variety of interests, some are tech related and some not. A handful of my hobbies include woodturning & woodworking, motorcycling, gaming, Dungeons & Dragons, indoor plants & gardening, home automation, playing guitar, camping, 3D printing, flying FPV quadcopters, and lockpicking.

Where am I most likely to find you on the weekend?

When I’m not at home hanging out with my wife and two kids, you can probably find me out riding my motorcycle with friends (until it gets too cold) or in the garage doing woodworking.

What have you been reading lately?

My favorite author is Brandon Sanderson and his “Cosmere” fantasy books. I like the long-form stories he writes and enjoy seeing how his different series interconnect. In a similar vein, I like the Dune series and am excited for the upcoming movie later this year!

Are there any charitable organizations or causes that you are passionate about?

We donate to a local food pantry called Tabitha’s Way.
